The app shows the shop’s published rate. If our own rate feed pauses for any reason, the app holds the last rate the shop published rather than letting the number drift with the market — so what you see is always a rate we set, not one worked out on the fly. When a rate is not fresh, the app says so on screen.
Nine times in ten this is the connection between your phone and us, not the shop’s end. There is more than one path back to our servers and the app tries the others by itself, so give it a minute. If every path is shut, you will still see figures — the ones it kept from the last time it got through, labelled as saved so you are never quoting a number without knowing how old it is. It picks up live again the moment the line clears.
Yes, at any time: iOS Settings → R.R. Jewellers → Notifications. You will still see every rate in the app; you simply will not be told about offers.
Tap the three lines in the corner. Text Size is the first row you will see, with four settings from S to XL. It opens on the biggest one your particular handset can carry without a figure running off the edge, so try the others if you want it larger still.
Keep your finger on it for a second or two. The figure lifts out onto a card of its own and stops dead, with the moment it was taken stamped underneath — so you can read it out in full without it moving under you. A tap anywhere puts it back.
