Help with the Gurukrupa Gold Assay & Testing Centre app · Home Ganj Sarrafa Bazar, Etawah, Uttar Pradesh – 206001

The app does one job: it puts the centre's published rates, the market figures behind them and the centre's announcements where a jeweller or a customer can read them without walking to the counter. The answers below cover what it does, what it does not do, and what to try when a figure will not appear.

Questions the counter is asked

Do I have to register or log in?

No. There is no account, no password and no sign-up screen. Open the app and the rates are there. Nobody has to say who they are to read a figure.

Whose rate am I looking at?

Two different things, marked separately. The centre's own published rate is the figure the counter works to, at whatever purities the counter is working to, each labelled on the screen. Beside it are publicly available futures quotations and international spot prices, shown as they stand for reference. The centre's figure is the one that applies here.

How are the coin rates worked out?

They are arithmetic on the rates already on the screen — weight and standard applied to the published figure. Nothing is added by hand, so a coin rate moves only when the rate it is derived from moves.

Will the app tell me whether the rate is going up?

No, and it never will. The app reports figures; it does not predict them and gives no opinion on when to buy or sell. That is a deliberate limit, not an omission.

Can I get metal tested through the app?

No. Assay work is done at the counter, on the metal itself — that is the whole trade, and no screen can stand in for it. Bring the piece to Home Ganj Sarrafa Bazar. The app carries rates and announcements only.

Can I order jewellery or see a catalogue?

There is none to see. The centre tests and hallmarks metal; it does not sell jewellery, so the app has no catalogue, no gallery, no cart and no chat.

The rates are not appearing.

The figures are pulled fresh from the centre's servers each time, so the app needs a working connection. Check mobile data or Wi-Fi, then close the app fully and open it again. If the screen stays blank while other apps load normally, telephone the number below and say what the screen shows; the rate can be given over the phone in the meantime.

How do I stop, or start, the announcements?

Permission is asked once, a few seconds after the rates first appear. Either answer is fine — declining changes nothing else in the app. To change your mind later, open the iOS Settings app, find this app in the list, tap Notifications and switch Allow Notifications on or off. The change takes effect straight away.

Can a message be sent to my phone alone?

No. An announcement is published once and reaches every installation that has notifications switched on. The centre keeps no list of devices and no list of numbers gathered from the app, so it cannot address one handset or tell who received a message.

The type is too small to read.

There is a text-size control in the app; set it once and it stays that way, including after the app is closed. The setting is kept on the phone alone.

What does the app record about me?

No name, no number, no location, no contacts, no photographs and no payment details — nothing personal at all. Only the text size and the screen you were last on are remembered, both on the handset. Deleting the app removes those with it. The privacy notice sets this out clause by clause.

Something in the app looks wrong.

Report it. If a rate looks out of step with the board in the shop, or an announcement reads oddly, telephone or write with the date, the time and what the screen showed. The centre would rather correct a figure than have anyone act on a wrong one.
