Gurukrupa Gold Assay

1 Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how the Gurukrupa Gold Assay mobile application (the “App”) handles information. The App is published for Gurukrupa Gold Assay & Testing Centre (“we”, “us”, “our”) and is developed and maintained by RR Tech. By installing or using the App, you agree to this policy.

The App is an informational tool for our customers — it displays today’s indicative bullion rates, our purity-testing/assay services, store address, bank details and contact options. It is not a trading, payment, or account-based application.

2 Information we collect

We do not collect any personal information. The App has no login, no sign-up, no forms, and no user profiles. Specifically:

• No personal data — we do not collect your name, email, phone number, address, government IDs, or payment details.
• No location — the App never requests or accesses your device location.
• No contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or files — the App does not request access to any of these.
• No advertising identifiers — the App contains no third-party advertising networks or ad tracking SDKs.

Information handled automatically

• Network requests. To show live rates, the App securely requests rate data from our rate service. As with any internet request, our server may momentarily process the standard connection information (such as your IP address) needed to deliver the response. This is used only to serve the rates and is not used to identify you.
• On-device preferences. Settings such as dark-mode, the “Special Rate” toggle and which sections you last viewed are stored only on your device (in the app’s local storage) so the App remembers them. This never leaves your phone and is removed when you clear the app’s data or uninstall it.
• Anonymous, aggregate counts. If our shop runs a promotional banner or offer inside the App, the App may report an anonymous “shown”/“tapped” count for that promotion so we can gauge interest. These are simple aggregate numbers — they contain no name, no device ID, and nothing that identifies you.
• Notifications. If you allow notifications, Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging creates an anonymous per-installation identifier (a "Firebase installation ID") so a notification can reach this installation, along with the app version and basic device information such as OS version and model. Google states this identifier does not uniquely identify a user or a physical device. We never receive it — notifications are published to a shop-wide topic, not to individual devices, so we hold no device list, no tokens and no per-customer records. Some notifications are promotional (offers and posters). You can switch notifications off at any time in Settings › Apps › Gurukrupa Gold Assay › Notifications, and the App keeps working normally. None are sent between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am IST.

3 Permissions the App uses

The App requests the minimum permissions required to work:

• Internet & network state — to fetch the latest gold/silver rates and to check whether you are online. No other permissions (location, contacts, storage, camera) are requested.

4 Contacting us from the App

The Contact screen offers convenience shortcuts — tap-to-call, WhatsApp, and copy-address. When you tap these, the App simply opens your device’s own dialer, WhatsApp, or browser. You choose whether to use them, and any communication that follows happens in those other apps, under their own privacy terms. The App itself does not send or store your messages.

5 Third-party services

• Rate service. Live rates are delivered over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection from our rate server. Only rate and display information is exchanged; no personal data is sent.
• YouTube (only if a video promotion is shown). If our shop attaches a promotional video, it may play through YouTube. When you play such a video, YouTube (Google) may process data under Google’s own privacy policy — policies.google.com/privacy. Videos never play by themselves; they play only if you tap to watch.

6 How we share data

We do not sell, rent, or trade any data. Because the App collects no personal information, there is nothing personal to share. We only disclose information if strictly required by law.

7 Data security

• All rate data is fetched over HTTPS; the App disables cleartext (unencrypted) network traffic.
• The App keeps no cloud backup of app data and stores nothing sensitive.
• On-device preferences stay on your device and are cleared when you clear app data or uninstall.

8 Children’s privacy

The App is intended for general audiences and our jewellery customers. It does not knowingly collect any information from children, as it does not collect personal information from anyone.

9 Your choices & rights

• Clear on-device data — go to Android Settings → Apps → Gurukrupa Gold Assay → Storage → Clear data to remove all locally saved preferences.
• Uninstall anytime — removing the App removes all of its on-device data.

10 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
